CWT-108 CWT-108

  • 18 sensor ports on the front and sides of the test section allow inserting of probes such as thermocouples, Pitot tubes, and velocity measuring sensors
  • The wind tunnel has an access door, conveniently located in the front of the test section for the mounting of boards and, optional internal rail guides that allow for the simple installation of different test specimens such as PCBs and heat sinks
  • 24 volt-DC fans individually controlled to generate air flow, and are fully compatible with the WTC-100 Wind Tunnel Controller for automated thermal characterization

CWT-108 Open Loop Wind Tunnel

The CWT-108 is a research quality, open loop wind tunnel for thermal characterization of components, boards, and heat sinks.

It produces up to 5 m/s (1000 ft/min) of uniform, homogeneous air flow within its test section. It features a polynomial shape and internal flow management system, and includes honeycombs and screens to break up turbulence.

The CWT-108 can be operated vertically or horizontally and is made of aluminum and stainless steel with a see-through test section for ease of flow visualization.

It can be used to characterize a variety of heat sink sizes for natural and forced convection cooling.

An ideal test vehicle for component characterization. Test two heat sinks side-by-side and compare their thermal performance in the same environment.
