ATS Announces Thermal Design Services to help Telecom Equip OEMs meet Verizon’s VZ.TPR.9208 Thermal Management Req.

Verizon has announced that on July 1st, 2010, it’s Thermal Management Requirements for Improved Energy Efficiency of Telecommunications Equipment, Verizon Technical Purchasing Requirements VZ-TPR-9208, will come into full effect.

What does this mean for the telecommunications equipment provider? Simply that your equipment must be in compliance with this specification in order to be included in Verizon’s network.

At ATS we know this can be a complex process so we’ve released our newly formed Verizon’s Thermal Management Design Services.

ATS is well acquainted with the entire range of NEBS telecommunications requirements, VZ-TPR-9208 just being the latest.  Dr. Kaveh Azar, ATS’s founder, was the founder and manager of Lucent Technologies’ Thermal Management Center, responsible for developing the next generation of cooling systems. In addition, Dr. Azar authored Lucent’s thermal roadmap and served as the corporate thermal consultant. While at Lucent, he developed a state-of-the-art thermal/fluids laboratory for simulation of components, boards and systems.

That same telecommunications thermal management expertise forms the solid foundation for our Verizon Thermal Design Services.
